Abstract From the Canadian patent

A mode and configuration indicator for a computer wherein a display window identifies active modes and flags at the time or request by a user. This is particularly useful in a PC supporting two desparate languages such as Arabic and English simultaneously. The method suspends current screen access and polls the modes and flags to determine which ones are active for identification in the display window.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted January 23, 1990. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 23, 2007.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
