A method for controlling fuel injector lift control provides accurate lift dimensions over the life of the injector 10. The method can be implemented by sophisicated equipment for more automated operation but the steps of measuring and determining the spacing between the pole piece 18 and the armature member 26 and forming a spacer 12 as a result of such measurements substantially follow the concept of differential gaging 36 and stepper motor 52 controlled press 38. Once a spacer 12 is sized, it is mated with the housing member 14 and the valve body assembly 24 and held in place by unitizing the injector 10.

Why it's free to use
- Granted January 23, 1990. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 23, 2007.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
