Substituted phenoxy-, 1-, and 2-naphthalenyloxyindenyl-, indolyl-, benzofuranyl-, and benzobthiofuranylcarboxamides of 7,8-(substituted-diamino)-1oxaspiro4.5decanes are useful as analgesic agents. A method of making the compounds pharmaceutical, compositions employing the compounds and a method of, alleviating pain in warm-blooded animals are also disclosed. The compounds have the general formula: wherein n, R1, R2, R3, x and Y are as defined in the disclosure and claims.
