Abstract From the Canadian patent

Processes for the production of 4-eq.-halogen substituted polycyclo-alkylidene polycyclo-alkanes and corresponding epidioxy compounds using as halogenating agent a member of the group comprising N-halosuccinimide tect.-butylhypohalite and sodium hypohalite acetic acid are described. The epidioxy compounds are useful as chemiluminescent compounds. Additional suitable functional groups are added which enhance immunochemical utility of the compounds i.e. fatty acid radical and protein radical. The epidioxy compounds are of the general structural formula wherein A and B are alkylene radicals and R2 represents a suitable substituent.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted November 14, 1989. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended November 14, 2006.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
