Abstract From the Canadian patent

Animals, particularly horses, suffer from many ailments that may be alleviated by the localized application of heat, particularly radiant heat. However it is difficult to apply such heat at the desired location due to the difficulty in maintaining a radiant heating pad in position. The present blanket is designed for use either as a full horse blanket, a half blanket or for application to the limbs or a relatively small part of the body. It comprises an outer blanket portion of flexible blanket type material with preferably a waterproof sweat liner secured around the edges only to keep the sweat away from any stitching thereby preventing rotting thereof.
