Abstract From the Canadian patent

A liquid, ungelled composition of matter composed of a graft copolymer prepared by the free radical initiated polymerization in an organic medium of a vinyl monomer component which contains at least 0.5 weight percent of an epoxy group containing vinyl monomer in the presence of an acid group containing polymer having an acid value greater than 10mg KOH/g. One means of graft formation is the condensation reaction between the acid groups of the acid group containing polymer and the epoxy groups of the vinyl monomer component. The composition of matter according to the invention are useful in coating compositions.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted August 1, 1989. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended August 1, 2006.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
