A heat stable thermoplastic epoxy resin is prepared by reacting together in the presence of a catalyst (a) an epoxy resin, (b) optionally a poly-, hydric phenol, and (c) a monohydric phenol or alcohol monocarboxylic acid or anhydride thereof aliphatic or, aromatic mono-secondary amines mono-thiol, mono-, -isocyanate, water or combination thereof. The thermoplastic resin does not exhibit an excessive viscosity increase at elevated temperatures making it particularly suitable for use in highway marking paint applications.
