A relay control system is disclosed for alternately energizing and deenergizing a non-latching relay in response to successive applications of an AC impulse control signal to a control signal input. An impulse processing circuit converts the AC impulse control signal into a DC pulse. The DC pulse toggles a first flip-flop. The output from the first flip-flop is gated through a second flip-flop in response to a clock signal produced by an AC zero-crossing detector to synchronize the second flip-flop output with zero-crossings of the AC power signal. The output from the second flip-flop operates driving circuitry which energizes and deenergizes the relay coil, thereby toggling the relay. A …

Why it's free to use
- Granted June 20, 1989. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 20, 2006.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
