A method in thickening a fiber suspension in a thickening apparatus working under pressure and including an inlet for the fiber suspension and an outlet for a substantially fiberfree fraction, a supply conduit being connected to the inlet, and a discharge conduit being connected to each of the outlets. The flow in the discharge conduit for the fiber-rich fraction is regulated via a valve in the discharge conduit. Regulation is done on the basis of measuring a physical parameter of the fiber fraction with the aid of a transducer. The measured value is compared with a criterion value and if there, is a difference, the flow through the discharge conduit is changed to approach the criterion …

Why it's free to use
- Granted June 6, 1989. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 6, 2006.
