The invention relates to compounds consisting of podophyllotoxin and its derivatives of the formula wherein R1 is H or OH and R2 is H or CH3 for treatment, of certain states of illness and to a method for their preparation. Furthermore, the invention concerns the use of the compounds for treatment of said states of illness, as well as the use of said compounds for the preparation of pharmacological compositions for the treatment of said states of illness.
