Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a method of testing an adaptive echo cancellation apparatus for faults, a signal is sent from the send side while the remote signal to the apparatus is disconnected. The received signal originating from the send signal is sampled and cancelled by the echo canceller of the apparatus and the thus-obtained, corrected sampled receive signal is compared with a positive and a negative threshold value. An acceptable quality limit is based on the number of samples per second which exceeds or falls below the threshold values.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted February 28, 1989. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended February 28, 2006.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
