Abstract From the Canadian patent

New antibiotics M43A, M43B, M43C and M43D new glycopeptide antibiotics of the vancomycin class are produced by fermentation of Nocardia orientalis NRRL 2450, and NRRL 2452. The products have excellent antibacterial activity comparable to that of vancomycin.
