Abstract From the Canadian patent

Abstract A packet switching network comprises switching nodes residing on circuit packs that are interconnected by packet signal transmission links carrying multiplexed pulse-width modulated signals each representing three bits. A link incoming to a pack connects to an input port of a demultiplexer, whose output ports are coupled to packet inputs of three nodes. The incoming signal stream is demultiplexed into three serial signal substreams. Each substream is transmitted to a node for switching. A link outgoing from a pack connects to an output port of a multiplexer whose input ports are coupled to the packet outputs of three nodes. The three incoming serial signal substreams are …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted June 7, 1988. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 7, 2005.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
