A continuously operating press for manufacturing and/or coating of a single-layer or multilayer continuous board from a fibrous mat consisting of particles containing lignocellulose and/or cellulose, the particles being compounded by means of at least one bonding agent. The press is provided with an endless belt preferably a steel, belt circulating at a preset speed and having an upper run and a lower run. The back side of the belt slides over a friction lining 7 which is provided with grooves 9 10. A lubricant is brought to the grooves via supply conduits and is removed through outlet openings.
