Abstract From the Canadian patent

Breathing apparatus comprising a mask for defining a breathing chamber in communication with the nose of the user a, gas supply container having a movable valve control element and, an operator manipulated by the mouth of the user for moving the control to open the valve to introduce gas to the breathing chamber. As a result, control of the gas supply is provided by the mouth of the user and inhaling from and exhaling to the chamber is through the nose of the user.
