A toy robotic arm is constructed to include a base having a control mechanism therein which includes a single motor. An operator control member extends from the base and can be manipulated by the operator of the toy. An articulated arm is attached to the base. The articulated arm has a plurality of segments which are movably joined together at points of articulation. A grasping member is attached to the end of the arm distal from the base and is capable of interacting with objects. Motion from the motor is transferred to both the segments of the arm and the grasping member by transfer members moving through the arm.
