Abstract From the Canadian patent

Sheets (10a,10b) of heat transfer element (12) for stacking in an element basket (50) of a rotary regenerative heat exchanger are cut in such a manner that the spacing notches (24) formed in the element sheets (10a,10b) cannot nest when the element sheets are arranged in juxtaposition within an element basket (50).
