Disclosed herein is a method of preparing a conductive material for skin contacting electrode containing as an essential component a polymer of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropanesulfonic acid salts, copolymers or copolymer, salts thereof wherein the monomer is polymerized in the solution of water or alcohol. The prepared material takes the form of a self-supporting flexible material having adhesive properties and inherently electrically conductive properties.
