Abstract From the Canadian patent

The friction-type isolator according to the present invention used to isolate flat packages of differing lengths such as letters, from a stack, works with withdraw belts that run in the direction of delivery, even if the individual packages are of different thicknesses. To this end two spring loaded support elements abut against the stack.
