Abstract From the Canadian patent

A cassette cleaner for a video player/recorder having a cleaning ribbon which comes into frictional engagement with the drum and playing head of the player/recorder. The ribbon has a contact surface with an alternating pattern of raised portions and recessed portions. This lessens the drag created by the engagement of the ribbon with the drum and playing head
