Abstract From the Canadian patent

Preparation of graft copolymer characterized by reacting cellulose ester and mono- or di-ester of maleic or fumaric acid, thereby obtaining cellulose derivative bearing polymerizable double bonding, and then copolymerizing said cellulose derivative with other copolymerizable monomer(s). The invention also includes a coating composition based on thus obtained graft copolymer.
