Abstract From the Canadian patent

Phase Lock Loop Circuit, A phase lock loop circuit comprises a variable frequency oscillator (10) having a control input and an output, a divider (11) having an input coupled with the output of the oscillator (10) and an output coupled with the first input of a phase or frquency comparator (12). The comparator (12) has a second input for a reference frequency (FREF) and an output coupled with the oscillator control input for providing a signal which is related to the difference in phase or frequency of the signals at the first and second inputs to effect phase locking of the oscillator to the reference signal. A detector (13) provides a switching signal when the control signal falls outside …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted December 23, 1986. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended December 23, 2003.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
