Abstract From the Canadian patent

11, ABSTRACT:, In an appliance driven by an electric motor a tool is driven via a drive mechanism by a self-starting two-pole single-phase synchronous motor (7) which comprises a diametrically magnetized permanent-magnet rotor (17) and a stalling device (12), which stops the rotor after a specific number of revolutions in at least one direction of rotation, upon which the direction of rotation is reversed automatically. The stalling device stops the rotor in positions in which the angle between the rotor-field vector (18) which intersects the rotor perpendicularly to the stator field (15) lies within an angular range (20, 21) of 60° in each direction of rotation of the rotor.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted December 16, 1986. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended December 16, 2003.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
