A device for the thermal spraying of build-up welding materials having components for feeding the working materials consisting of the operating gases and the build-up welding materials to a cooled focussing jet in communication with a combustion chamber. The focussing jet is provided on its in-feed side with an adapter which surrounds the combustion chamber. Opposite its opening into the focussing jet the combustion chamber is closed off by means of a combustion jet provided with differential pressure or a nozzle, holder, axially adjustable with respect to the adapter.
