Disclosed is a film which is suitable for separating multicomponent liquid or gaseous systems comprised of a semipermeable membrane which has profiling on its surface and which is preferably applied to a support material which has a strengthening function. The profiling is formed either when the membrane is prepared on profiled release materials or by profile-imparting elements which are fixed to the surface of the film or are located in the membrane layer or between the support material and the membrane layer. Processes for preparing this film and a membrane separating device having a spiral-like or layered structure are also disclosed.
