Abstract From the Canadian patent

Methods are provided for obtaining from fungi selected from, the dematiaceous hyphomycetes chloroperoxidases, which can catalyze, oxidation of chloride bromide and iodide in aqueous solution in the presence of H202 and which have optimum activity above about pH 5. Further methods are provided for obtaining from microorganisms including dematiaceous hyphomycetes, non-heme-containing chloroperoxidases, which have the same halide-oxidation capabilities and pH optima and which are substantially more stable to inactivation by H202 and HOCl than the chloroperoxidase of Caldariomyces fumago. The chloroperoxidases obtained by the methods of the invention are used, in aqueous solution at a pH …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted September 30, 1986. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended September 30, 2003.
