Abstract From the Canadian patent

Superconducting films (12) and devices are provided which exhibit an AC to DC conversion effect of an RF AC input signal. The films (12) can be microscopically inhomogeneous with granular or columnar microstructures (13) in layered or nonlayered structures, which provide the conversion effect with and without an applied magnetic field. The films (12) also can be multilayer films (22) which provide the conversion effect with a magnetic field applied to the films. The multilayer films (22) are substantially compositionally homogeneous within the layers and the microscopically inhomogeneous films are substantially compositionally homogeneous throughout but, include structural inhomogeneities.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted September 2, 1986. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended September 2, 2003.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
