In an apparatus for positioning the plane table at an optional inclination there are included two rotatable wedge-shaped housings adapted to giving the plane the selected inclination in a combination of angular rotations. For avoiding a point of singularity within the positioning range for the inclination, an angularity is introduced between the uppermost of the housings and the plane.
