The present invention is directed to three-layer laminates which include an active layer or sheet containing from about 60 to about 85 weight percent active carbon, the remainder being unsintered fibril-, lated polytetrafluoroethylene in intimate admixture with the active carbon, the active layer being laminated on its working surface to a current distributor and on its opposite surface to a porous, coherent hydrophobic, polytetrafluoroethylene-containing wetproofing layer. The three-layer laminates are suitable for use as oxygen (air) cathodes in chlor-alkali and other electrochemical cells, fuel cells and in other electrochemical applications.

Why it's free to use
- Granted July 22, 1986. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 22, 2003.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
