A work support for use primarily with machine tools is provided by a double-acting, automatic self-, centering holding device including a set of three holding rollers which synchronously and equally move radially toward and away from a workpiece holding position to facilitate the concentric positioning of workpieces of various diameter. The simultaneous radial or centripetal displacement of the holding rollers is accomplished by means of a pair of double-acting symmetrical slots cut one in each of a pair of lever arms which in turn support one of the holding rollers.
