Abstract From the Canadian patent

Vanadium compound/orgdnometallic compound/inorganic oxide catalyst compositions useful for the polymerization of ethylene to polymers having an intermediate molecular weight distribution that can be predictably controlled by the use of a "tunable" variable are obtained by using as the vanadium component, a mixture of about 10-90 mol percent of VOCl3 and, correspondingly, about 90-10 mol percent of VCl4. The molecular weight distributions of polymers formed in the presence of the catalyst compositions are narrowed as the proportionation of VCl4 in the vanadium component is increased.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted July 15, 1986. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 15, 2003.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
