Abstract From the Canadian patent

There is disclosed a bag making machine for producing bags from an elongate strip of plastic web material. The disclosure relates to various improvements in the bag making machine such as the apparatus for driving the web material through the bag machine. The apparatus includes first and second intermittently operable web driving mechanisms for driving the web from the rear driving mechanism to the forward driving mechanism. The driving pressure of the rear mechanism is adjustable to control web tension between the drive mechanisms. A cutting apparatus cuts the bag handles from the stretched portion of the web material between the drive mechanisms when the drive mechanisms are non-operable.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted June 24, 1986. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended June 24, 2003.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
