Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to an apparatus and to a process for measuring the energy supplied in particular by a pulsed laser beam. The apparatus comprises a material having a high dipole moment and freely orientable dipoles. This material is able to absorb the energy supplied by the beam, the interaction of the beam and the material leading to a temperature rise in the latter which, is proportional to the energy absorbed. This leads to a variation in the dielectric constant of the material. In addition, means are provided which make it possible to measure the variation of the dielectric constant. (Fig 2). B 7355.3 LC

Why it's free to use

  • Granted December 17, 1985. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended December 17, 2002.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
