The conventional solar distillation apparatus includes a container, a clear transparent cover so that water in the container can be heated, and at least one collector at the junction between the container and cover for collecting water which evaporates from the container, and condenses and runs down the cover. By adding inclined plates to the water in the container, i.e. by partially immersing heat conducting plates in the water, the rate of evaporation or distillation is increased substantially.

Why it's free to use
- Granted November 26, 1985. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended November 26, 2002.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
