In a conventional frequency synthesizer used for a frequency modulation transceiver, a reference oscillator feeds a reception oscillator and a transmission oscillator, each of which has a phase locked loop (PLL). Each PLL includes a voltage controller oscillator (VCO), variable frequency divider phase com-, parator and low pass filter. The dividing ratio of each frequency divider is varied with a channel designation signal and a modulating signal is applied to the VCO of the transmission oscillator together with a control voltage representative of the frequency difference between the VCO output and the reference oscillation. To overcome instability inherent in this system the invention …

Why it's free to use
- Granted October 8, 1985. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended October 8, 2002.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
