Abstract From the Canadian patent

Abstract, A simple method for increasing the dynamic range of a GaAs FET amplifier is described. The drain resistance of the FET is adjusted to induce leakage current across the gate-source junction when excessive power levels are imposed on the gate. This current shunt is provided without added circuit components and therefore does not affect the sensitivity or bandwidth performance of the amplifier. (FIG. 3).

Why it's free to use

  • Granted May 7, 1985. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended May 7, 2002.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
