Abstract of the disclosure An apparatus for determining the course angle of a vessel or vehicle with respect to the magnetic meridian at the location of the vessel or vehicle comprises a first and a second probe. The probes are mounted at least rotationally fixed in the vessel or vehicle in measuring directions mutually enclosing an angle. The probes each provide an output signal dependent on a change of the magnetic flux in the respective probes as caused by a change of the course angle of the vessel or vehicle. Both said probes are coupled with a processor unit which derives the course angle of the vessel or vehicle from said output signals.

Why it's free to use
- Granted April 9, 1985. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended April 9, 2002.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
