Abstract From the Canadian patent

13-, Abstract, TWT Interaction Circuit With Broad Ladder Rungs A slow-wave circuit suitable for a high-frequency traveling-wave tube has an array of metallic ladder rungs extending transversely across an elongated envelope and not in contact with the envelope except at the ends of the rungs. The envelope has a crossshaped section to provide a fundamental backward wave. The rungs preferably have aligned apertures to pass a beam of electrons in traveling-wave interaction with the circuit. By making the rungs transversely broader than a critical value, the lowest passband of the circuit has poles of impedance at both its ends whereby, more efficient interaction is obtained along with, greater …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted January 8, 1985. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 8, 2002.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
