Abstract From the Canadian patent

An improved catalyst form and a process for its use in decomposition of aqueous hypochlorite in fixed beds are disclosed. The improved catalysts in the form of a serous catalyst matrix compris? a substance which is known to catalyze decomposition of hypochlorite and an organic thermoplastic resin binder e.g. a polyolefin. The use of the organic resin reduces or eliminates some of the problems associated with the catalysts per se, such as disintegration during use.
