Abstract From the Canadian patent

SYSTEM FOR SIMULTANEOUS MEASUREMENT, OF BOREHOLE AND FORMATION NEUTRON LIFETIMES (Docket No. WPC-32), ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system is disclosed for measuring simultaneously the formation and borehole components of thermal neutron lifetime or decay time. The borehole and formation are irradiated with 14 MEV pulsed neutrons. During the internal between neutron pulses capture gamma radiation is measured in at least four, non-overlapping contiguous, time gates. A background radiation measurement is also periodically made. Background corrected capture gamma ray measurements are combined to derive simultaneously the formation and borehole components of thermal neutron lifetime which are …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted April 3, 1984. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended April 3, 2001.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
