Abstract From the Canadian patent

According to one aspect of the invention as disclosed emulsion copolymer particles with diameters smaller than 1.5 micrometers and functionalized with cation exchange functional groups are prepared and suspended as emulsions in liquid media to form liquid cation exchange materials. Also emulsion copolymer particles with diameters less than 1.5 micrometers are functionalized with anion exchange functional groups by a method involving coagulation of the emulsion, according to another aspect of the invention disclosed herein. Both weakly basic and strongly basic anion exchange resins are prepared from aromatic or acrylic copolymers, and the emulsion coagula may be resuspended to form anion …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted January 31, 1984. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 31, 2001.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
