Abstract From the Canadian patent

D-4,456, AIR COOLED MACHINE AND COOLING FAN Abstract of the Disclosure:, A fan assembly has a sealing ring which rotatably fits with a similar feature on a machine casting when the fan is assembled to the machine to provide a labyrinth type seal which is maintained over a wide variation and axial gap to inhibit the flow of air bypassing the normal flow through the machine so that the fan pumps greater quantities of air through the machine for improved cooling of rotatable elements therein.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted January 31, 1984. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended January 31, 2001.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
