Abstract From the Canadian patent

A connector for use in establishing electrical connections between the conductors (100) of a flat multi-conductor electrical cable (101) and conductors (20G) carried by a substrate (201), comprises a stamped and formed sheet metal member (1) adapted to be secured to the substrate (201) and having a plurality of resilient fingers (2) arranged to urge respective conductors (100) of the cable (101) on to respective conductors (200) on the substrate (201) and a lifting, lever (10) by which the fingers (2) can be lifted and latched away from the substrate (201) to permit zero force insertion of the cable (101) between the fingers (2) and the substrate (201).
