There are described acylaniline derivatives of the formula I (I), wherein, Y is , , or , R5 is 2-furyl or 2-tetrahydrofuryl each of which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen; or R5 is the group CH2Z where, Z is one of the group -OR6, -SR6 NH-N(R7)(R8), -OSO2R9, or 1,2,4-triazole and the substituents X, R1, R2, R3, R4 R5, R6, R7, R8, R10, and R11 are, as defined hereinafter. Compounds of this type have a very favourable microbicidal spectrum. They are used principally for combating phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria.
