A tray is disclosed for use in a rectification column through which a liquid stream flows. The tray is of a geometric arrangement including slits formed therein so that w ranges from 1.0 to 3.0 mm, ?/w ranges from 10.0 to 350 T/w ranges, from 1.3 to 5.0, and p/w is at least 1.3 where w represents the, width of the slits ? is the length of the slits, T represents the spacing between adjoining slits in a direction of liquid stream flow, and p represents the spacing between adjoining slits in a direction at a right angle to the direction of liquid stream flow. The values of w, ?/w, and p/w are chosen to provide maximum tray efficiency with minimum pressure drop across the tray at high liquid …

Why it's free to use
