Abstract From the Canadian patent

A corrosion inhibitor mixture for ammonium sulfatebased fire-retardant compositions is provided herein. The mixture includes a water-soluble cyanide compound and a water soluble ortho-phosphate compound. The components of the corrosion inhibitor system are present in a minor effective amount at least sufficient to inhibit the corrosivity of said fire-retardant composition to aluminum, mild steel and brass to less than 1 mil per year. This system reduces the corrosiveness of ammonium sulfate-based composition thereby to meet the corrosion specifcations for aerially applied fire-retardants.

Why it's free to use

  • Granted December 1, 1981. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended December 1, 1998.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
