The present invention relates to an anti-fouling paint formulation and a method which is suitable for protecting surfaces exposed to water, from biological growths. The paint formulation comprises a water-insoluble polymeric binder, a water-soluble polymer binder and a sparingly watersoluble solid toxicant. The method comprises the application of the paint formulation to the surface of and object or construction.
