Abstract From the Canadian patent

A switchable auxiliary lens is arranged in the vicinity of the objective lens of an electron microscope to enable switching between TEM mode and STEM mode. The auxiliary lens is formed notably by an interruption in the magnetic circuit off one of the poles of the main lens, possibly in conjunction with an electromagnetic coil which can be excited in a commutatable manner. -15-

Why it's free to use

  • Granted October 13, 1981. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended October 13, 1998.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
