Abstract From the Canadian patent

A hydrocarbon reforming process minimizing the detrimental effects of inadvertently contacting a platinum group metal, halogen-containing catalyst with feedstocks containing undesirably high concentrations of sulfur and water. The present process involves adding a sufficient amount of halogen component to the reaction zone to maintain or increase the catalyst halogen concentration during high sulfur high, water-containing feedstock-catalyst contacting. After the sulfur contamination has been removed from the catalyst normal hydrocarbon reforming is resumed. Maintaining or increasing the catalyst halogen concentration provides for substantially reduced permanent loss in catalytic activity …

Why it's free to use

  • Granted July 28, 1981. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 28, 1998.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
