Abstract From the Canadian patent
A finned shell or like projectile is disclosed which has in each, of its fins, a recess for an auxiliary fin. The auxiliary fin is pivoted at one end in the recess and a spring in the recess normally urges the other end of the auxiliary fin outwardly of the recess. Thus the auxiliary fins can, be pressed into the recesses for firing and will automatically be extended after firing.

Why it's free to use
- Granted July 14, 1981. A Canadian patent filed before October 1, 1989 lasted 17 years from grant, so its term ended July 14, 1998.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
